I’ve been taking photos of Miss A. since she was 3. Now she’s a big-time first grader, smart as a whip and quite the comedienne. Full of personality, the girl seems destined to be an actress or some sort of entertainer. However, if you ask Miss A. what she wants to be when she grows up, she’ll tell you that she wants to be a dentist.
Not many 6 year olds can make it through a full 1-hour portrait session. About 30 minutes in Miss A. rolled her eyes and told me, “I feel like we’ve been doing this for 4 HOURS!”. See? Funny girl![]()
With the promise that I would take a lot of fun crazy pics at the end Miss A. maintained her enthusiasm and was an excellent little model for me.

Annnnd a few with my new ringflash…you know me and my love of animated GIFs

Their happiness and excitement for their upcoming wedding is infectious. I smiled like a goon when I was shooting this session and even now, months later, these photos still bring a smile to my face. These (soon-to-be) MU grads and high school sweethearts will be tying the knot this summer.

Fellow Tigers, remember this campus landmark?
MU legend says that if you walk across the shamrock outside Laferre Hall you’re destined to marry an engineer. In Karissa’s case, it’s true!

Truth, I am an avid Scrabble player but I’ve yet to play with my letters like this. Great idea, Karissa!
